God’s Calendar for Mankind?

Newsletter 1 (October 2023)
Welcome Note

Welcome to the book AWAKE’s website and our monthly newsletter. In our present day and age, we all receive too much email, and I do not wish to contribute to the excessiveness. But I do wish to share with you some other possible scriptural hidden things outside of the book ‘AWAKE’ and help you remain awake to pertinent End Times Events. If you subscribe, Newsletters will be forwarded to you automatically, or you can check for new postings monthly. As a subscribed follower, your email address will never be shared or used by anyone else (there are no affiliates). This book website is not a charity collection site, and you will never receive soliciting emails. I respect that your time is valuable, and in this light, newsletters will be short, to the point, limited to approximately monthly, and only if I believe I have something spiritually pertinent to share with you. If you find the book Awake enlightening in some respects and are interested in investigating other hidden aspects of scriptures, please subscribe.

God’s Calendar for Mankind?

Does God scripturally outline a calendar of Mankind’s allotted time in the Earthly realm? We will begin to investigate this and how it may pertain to the End Times, in this Newsletter and in subsequent newsletters. We are probably aware of God’s 7 days of creation and how this appears to align with his redemption plan of 7,000 years based on 2 Peter 3: 8  But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day (NIV, Italics mine).  The 1,000 years (earth time) to 1 day (Lord’s time) is also shown in Psalm 90:4. The believed alignment is based on the 7 days of creation, could also indicate 7 days of the Lord’s time (7,000 years Earth Time) allotted to his redemption plan. It may appear to be an assumption, however there may be some scriptural support and recent Dead Sea scrolls may also provide some clarity to this belief. In the end though we may still require a bit of faith as it won’t be proven definitively.

Dr. Ken Johnson has spent most of his life’s work studying the content of the Dead Sea scrolls and has written numerous books on his findings. One of his books is titled, ‘The Ancient Dead Sea Scroll Calendar: AND THE PROPHECIES IT REVEALS’, published in 2020. This isn’t an effort to promote his book, although I do recommend it, but to establish the source of my initial investigative work. In Dr. Johnson’s book, under the section entitled ‘Essene History’, he indicates that his calendar findings are derived from Dead Sea Scroll fragments cataloged as (4Q319 to 4Q394).

The Essene’s were a Jewish religious sect, like the sects of the Pharisees and Sadducees, which existed in Jesus’s day and earlier in the days of the prophets. They are believed to be the Jewish group responsible for hiding the Jewish sacred scrolls in the Qumran caves during the days of the Jewish revolt against Rome (approximately AD 70). The Essenes were a very closed Jewish religious sect who lived in the desert regions of the Qumran community. It is believed the Essenes originated as the school of the prophets which some propose may have begun in the days of the Jewish Prophets of Samuel, Elijah, and Elisha. We will discuss the Essenes in further detail in a later Newsletter.

In Ken Johnson’s book, he outlines the Dead Sea Scroll findings of the Essene Calendar, God’s original intended time measurement broken into following subsections.

  •  Year (period of 364 days, consisting of 12 months each 30 days long plus 1 day between each 3-month season period defined as the Equinoxes and Solstices).
  •  Shemitah (period of 7 years).
  • Jubilee (period 7 Shemitahs plus 1 year, or 50 years), Do not confuse a Jubilee period with a Jubilee year. A Jubilee year is the last year (50th year) of the Jubilee period (50 years).
  • Onah (10 Jubilee periods, or 500 years).
  • Millennium (2 Onahs, or 20 Jubilee periods, or 1000 years).

This is similar to how we divide our time measurement into centuries, decades, and 365-day years. To keep a 365.25-day solar cycle, it is theorized the Essene calendar applied a leap week every 7 years, and a double leap week every 28 years. The Jubilee period (50-year increments) was a primary measurement of extended time, much the same as we refer to events happening in various centuries (100-year increments). We presently live in the 21st century, and in like fashion, the Essenes generally referred to events happening in relation to a particular Jubilee period. An example found in the Dead Sea scroll (1Q17-18) of the Book of Jubilee, refers to Abraham’s death in the 43rd Jubilee period. This highlights how Jubilee periods were a base unit of measurement as centuries are to us. Some readers may believe a Jubilee is only 49 years,  but the findings of the Dead Sea scrolls indicate a Jubilee period is 50 years per the ancient prophets, and the 50th year is not also the 1st year of the next period. Note the above information is from the book, The Lost Prophecies of Qumran:2025 and the Final age of Man, published in 2020, by Josh Peck (Page 89).  Dr. Ken Johnson also wrote the Foreword to Josh Peck’s book.

The Dead Sea scrolls also contained the writings of the ‘Book of Jubilees’, which indicate mankind’s time, from Adam to the coming of the ‘New Heaven and New Earth’, is 7,000 years (3.5 Millenniums). This time is divided into 4 parts.

  • Beginning with the ‘Age of confusion or Chaos’ (approximately 2,000 years).
  • Followed by the age of ‘Torah or Law’ (approximately 2,000 years).
  • Then the ‘Age of Grace’ (again approximately 2,000 years).
  • And lastly by the age of ‘Messianic Kingdom or Kingdom Age‘ (approximately 1,000 years or what we refer to as the Millennium in accordance with the Book of Revelation).

This was all laid out by the early prophets in what they referred to as the ‘Age of Creation’ found in Dead Sea Scroll fragment 1:1-5.

The purpose of the above was to review and establish God’s intended calendar ages per the prophets, and how Jubilees are used as a base measurement of division. We find in Genesis 6: 3  Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days (most Bible translations use years) will be a hundred and twenty years.” (NIV, Italics mine). The Hebrew word used for years (or days) is ‘Shanah’ which means years, but other usages can also mean ‘count’ per an interlinear bible translation. If we were to apply ‘count’, as in a Jubilee period count of 120, we find that 120 counts of 50 years equal 6,000 years. This Jubilee period count implies the Jubilee isn’t just pertinent to when Israel is in the land as, some teach, but has a much broader application over the 4 ages that make up the 7,000 years. In our November newsletter we are going to delve deeper into God’s period count of Jubilees and what it could reveal hidden in scripture. We are led to believe by scholars that the Jubilee count was lost when the Israelites were dispersed after AD 70, but maybe God left a subtle breadcrumb about the Jubilee count, in the writings of the Prophet Ezekiel.

Don’t forget to subscribe and learn more about the Jubilee count and how it may apply to the End Times. God said he will only contend with man for 6,000 years (120 Jubilees). Find how close we are to that point. If you purchase the book ‘AWAKE’ from Amazon, then kindly take a few minutes and leave a simple and honest book review on Amazon. This act of kindness and faithful service to our master, will help to share these End Times findings with fellow Christians and potential Christians. Matthew 24: 45  “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?  46  It will be good for that servant
whose master finds him doing so when he returns. (NIV, italics mine)
